REPRESENT! REPRESENT! It’s a big misconception that anybody & everybody from Laos is Lao by ethnicity. However there’s 49 identified Laotian groups plus 86 languages spoken (Lao makes up the majority, followed by Khmu, then Hmong). We recently found a post on Facebook for an event in Ban Nathua, (Luang Prabang province), where locals cheered for their ethnic teams with signs and traditional clothing.
