Our 6th Lao Summer Camp in Philly returns August 2025!
🎶✨ Dive into Lao culture this summer at Lao Summer Camp Philly 2025! ✨🎶
Laos In The House is partnering once again with the Lao Heritage Foundation to host Lao Summer Camp. A fun, hands-on week where students will sing, dance, and make music with traditional Lao instruments — all taught by master musicians and artists. This year welcome back Ajahn Noh from Luang Prabang who has taught our Philly camp in 2016 and 2017.
Students will learn to play instruments like the khaen, lannat, kim, kong wong, and more, while practicing classical Lao dance styles like fon, lumvong, and basalop. They'll also learn new Lao language phrases, proper greetings and cultural etiquette to use with elders and monks. Campers will even get to cook Lao dishes using native ingredients.
Dates: Sunday, August 10 – Saturday, August 17
Time: 8:30AM – 3:30PM
Meals: Breakfast, lunch, and snacks included
The week ends with a family recital to showcase what they’ve learned.
Kids (ages 5+) will be grouped by age and paired with a teaching artist. They'll explore Lao customs, practice team-building, and get creative through music, dance, and art. Families are welcome to attend the first day — and adult students can join too!
Space is limited — register now!
Lao Summer Camp will take place Sunday August 10-17 2025 at Lao Buddhist Temple of North Philadelphia located at 335 E Chew Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19120.
