18. ສຸກສັນວັນປີໃຫ່ມ Souk San Van Pi Mai by Phouvieng and Athit

Phouvieng and her boo back at it again. Officially the song for celebrations, the title means "Happy New Year" not to be confused with the widely used "Sabaidee Pi Mai" which more so means "New Year Greetings To You". There are many renditions but I prefer theirs because you can hear their enunciations better, very helpful if you're trying to learn the words. In the video you see traditions like the throwing of the water, and powder on the face, with both singers wearing leis made from dok champha (plumeria, the national flower of Laos), and yes Phouvieng wears the fake hair pieces enjoyed by many ladies on Lao New Year.
